<image:title>Home - Rascal One of our supporters contacted us about Rascal in 2018. Rascal the Mini Dachshund was in need of a retirement home after being removed from a hoarding situation. Rascal came to us as a spry 14 year old. He had severe dental disease that required antibiotics and extractions. Rascal was a very sweet little guy but would not tolerate any nonsense from the larger dogs. The big dogs respected him and his space. He was mini but mighty!</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2019, Rascal suffered a back injury which left him paralyzed.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Franklin</image:title>
<image:caption>Franklin was found sleeping in the middle of the road. He was in a rural area of Florida known for mistreating bully breeds. Franklin immediately hopped in the car when invited to do so. He was heartworm positive and his x-rays showed advanced heart disease. The vets didn’t expected to live very long. Despite his intimidating appearance, Franklin was a gentle boy who enjoyed the company of any person he met. After 4 years with us, he lost his battle with heart failure in 2020.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Pepper</image:title>
<image:caption>Pepper was a senior lab that was surrendered by his family to Jefferson Parish Animal Services in New Orleans. A friend contacted us about him, knowing we had a soft spot for senior dogs. Pepper was with us for about a year. When he arrived, he had a terrible skin condition. After numerous prescriptions, medicated baths and topical ointments, Pepper was as good as new. Pepper loved swimming in our pond!</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Molly</image:title>
<image:caption>Molly was found as a stray by our neighbor in Louisiana. She was emaciated, dehydrated and covered in fleas. Our vet estimated her to be >15 years old. She was sweet, calm and loving. She was also incontinent and pleasantly confused. All she wanted was a fully belly and a warm bed. Molly was with us for only 3 months before she passed in 2018. She was an absolute doll with everyone and everything on the farm. She sparked our passion for caring for end-of-life animals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>
